SHe’S WiTH WHo?: ReFLeCTioN

My multimedia class had a project in which groups of four to five had to shoot their on movie on a certain topic.  The topic was a chance meeting.  My group shot a movie on a girl and two guys.  The girl cheated on the two different guys and in the end, they found out about it.  One day the girl was with one guy and the next day she was with the other.  Sadly to say but I was the girl. Even though it wasn’t true, it still felt a little weird.  All together each group filmed three movies.  The first movie was just practice.  While filming the second movie, we had to use another group’s storyboard.  In other words, it was their movie, But we filmed what we thought it was.  The last movie was the final movie and we had to improve our first one.  All in all, the movie unit was very exciting.  I liked filming the movies and actually seeing myself on the screen. Down below is our last and final movie we filmed for our movie unit. Hope you enjoy it!

Minden High School has a squad called Tider Line.  Tider Line is a big part of me because I love dancing and cheering for my team.  When I first came to Minden High this squad was called Red Wave.  According to Minden High’s rules, every girl who wanted to tryout for Cheerleading or Louisiannes in the near future had to go through Red Wave.  Red Wave was a pep squad who cheered for the Tide.  This year Minden has a new squad called Tider Line.  This is a squad of cheering and dancing.  We cheer and dance at football games, basketball games, and pep rallies.  The girls and I dance more than we cheer but we love showing school spirit for our team!  Tider Line is more of a Hip Hop dance group rather than a jazzy type group.  This year, I am a leader of this squad and I am hoping to become captain next year.  Below are some pictures of my girls and I.  :)

The United States has three branches of government.  These branches play an important role in the function of government.  Executive, Legislative, and Judicial are listed in Articles 1, 2, and 3 of the U.S. Constitution.

The Executive Branch deals with the president, vice-president, and 15 Cabinet-level departments such as State, Defense, Interior, Transportation, and Education.  The president is the power over the executive branch and he chooses his vice-president and his cabinet members.  Our country just recently got a new president.  His name is Barack Obama.

The Legislative Branch deals with the Senate and the House of Representatives.  Every state has 2 members to the Senate which means there are 100 senators in the United States.  There are 435 members to the House of Representatives.  The Legislative Branch is in charge of passing the nation’s laws and allocating funds.  Also, this branch has to provide assistance for all 50 states.

The Judicial Branch deals with the United States Supreme Court and lower federal courts.  Its role is to challenge legislation require interpretation of that legislation.  The U.S Supreme Court has nine justices, who are chosen by the President, confirmed by the Senate, and have a lifetime appointment.

These are our 3 branches of the United States government.

We are now ending our photography unit.  The best thing about doing this project is taking pictures and learning how to do certain things with a camera.  Above is my photobook that I made in my Multimedia class.  It shows different pictures of Rule of Third, Leading Lines, Nature, Neighborhood, Family, Friends, Unclutter, Framing, Close Up, School, and just some random pictures!  I hope you enjoy my photobook!  :)

My hometown is called Minden.  Minden was established in 1836 and is in the state of Louisiana.  I love my hometown more than anything.  It’s not the biggest city but it’s big enough for me.  Minden High School is a big part of Minden.  All through the years, there have been so many memories throughout this school.  I began coming to this school in 2007. I am now in the 10th grade and still working on passing the 10th grade as well as passing the GEE.  Minden High School has many extracurricular activities such as Cheerleading, Tider Line, Louisiannes, MMA, Nature Club, Foreign Language Club, Football, Basketball, Baseball, Golf, Tennis and much more.  Minden High has very good teachers who are working on educating the students so that they can graduate and go on to college.  At my school, you only take 4 classes per semester.  By the end of the year, you will have taken 8 classes.  As of right now I don’t want to leave Minden.  I want to stay in high school forever!  Before I became a freshmen a Minden High School, construction workers were working on building a new school for future students.  While in 9th grade, only half of the school was completed and construction workers were working on finishing the school in 2008.  I am proud of our new school and I hope the future students who come to Minden High take very good care of it. Also, my school was a location for the movie The Longshots.  Our football players, cheerleaders, and extras as well starred in this movie.  The movie crew had been filming around this time last year.  I loved seeing all of my friends in the movie.  It was very exciting! My favorite part of the school year is football season because I love cheering for my team.  This is just a little information about my school.  I’m sure I’ll be posting more about my school later.  For more information about my school, you can go to www.mindenhigh.com.  ENJOY!  :)
